Atlantic Basin LNG spot charter rates rose by 88% from May to July, pricing at ~$84k/day for the Spark30 physical contract and outpacing the summer rise across 2023.
The recent rise has been largely spurred by a 7% year-on-year uplift in Asian LNG imports across June against the backdrop of a soft European gas market, widening JKM-NWE spreads and tying up vessels lifting Atlantic cargos on lengthier voyages to the Pacific.
