Turkey has seen a record high level LNG imports in 2020 as it has been well set up to take advantage of lower priced cargoes.  This comes amidst high investment in FSRU and CCGT assets in recent years (and plans for future investment including a FSRU in Izmir). Turkey has been keen to diversify its energy mix as large tranches of oil indexed pipeline Russian gas contracts roll off 2021-25.  The Bluestream pipeline has not seen flows from Russia since a brief scheduled maintenance period in May as Turkey has turned to LNG as an alternative.
