Client Challenge
Our client engaged us to understand the economics of electrolysers and their impact on NW European power market price signals to 2050.
Our Solution
We used our stochastic power market model to analyse price responsive demand side flexibility provided by electrolysers. We worked with our client to develop several scenarios analysing the impact on power price dynamics (e.g. price, price shape & volatility) and the impact on flexible power assets.
Result
Our analysis informed our client's decision making on the impact of electrolysers on wholesale & ancillary markets and flexible power asset returns. It also supported their assessment of electrolyser investment economics.
