David has worked in energy and financial markets since 1996. He is an expert in the valuation and risk management of energy assets and portfolios.
He has worked in roles across Europe, the US and Australia which have combined commercial and trading experience with a depth of analytical expertise.
David has led Timera’s work with clients including Green Investment Group, Macquarie, Sembcorp, Gasunie, Bluefield, Equinor and Uniper.
David has an Honours degree in Economics from the Australian National University. He completed a graduate trading desk programme with Bankers Trust in Sydney and then joined JP Morgan working as a foreign exchange trader in London and New York. After making the transition to energy markets in the late 90’s, David worked on the Structuring Desk at Williams Energy in London valuing assets and structured energy contracts and developing hedging and risk management strategies. He then joined the Wholesale and Trading division of Origin Energy in Australia, having responsibility for the valuation and risk assessment of major projects, contracts and acquisitions. Prior to co-founding Timera Energy, David was a member of the Senior Management Team at Redpoint Energy.
